What cookies and local storage are

Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data a website can keep in your browser — for example, to remember a preference you've set.

How we use them

We keep this site deliberately lightweight. Today we use only the following:

• Strictly necessary. A local-storage entry namedtekyagent-consent-v1 remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. This is always on and is not used for advertising.
• Analytics (optional). Only if you accept, the site may load a configured privacy-focused analytics provider to understand page use and outbound-link activity. The provider and hosting location depend on the site configuration. We do not load the analytics script until you consent; contact us for the current provider details.
• Our own website measurement (optional). Only if you accept, we set two first-party cookies so we can see which pages get read and improve them. This goes to our own system, not to a third-party analytics company, so the data is not shared with anyone:
  • _teky_vid — a random identifier so repeat visits are recognised as the same browser. Expires after 2 years.
  • _teky_sid — groups the pages you read in one sitting into a single visit. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  They contain a random identifier and nothing else — no name, no email, no address. Your IP address is not stored: it is shortened to a coarse network range for approximate country only, and the full address is never written down. Where you arrived from is recorded as the site name alone (for example google.com) — never the full link, which could contain someone's search terms.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.

Managing your preferences

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings; the site will still work, and we'll simply ask for your choice again.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example, if we add an analytics tool). Any change will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
